Goshen, 12 Dec (SW) FC Indiana, the reigning US Open Cup and Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) national champions, announced the signing of Sweden U-21 player Yolanda Odenyo.

Odenyo, a defender, was a member of the Swedish National Team at Under 16, 17, 19 and 21 levels and has appeared in over 30 contests. She represented Sweden in the 2001 Nordic Cup and appeared in the 2002 and 2003 European Championships. Odenyo was the captain of her team that reached the European Championship semifinals in 2003.

In the 2005 season Odenyo played some matches for AIK Solna, a club that relegated at the end of the season. “Yolanda is a good player with fair amount of international experience and we expect her to step in and contribute right away as we prepare to defend our titles in 2006,” said FC Indiana coach Shek Borkowski.
