Week preview: Spain launches World Cup qualifying campaign

ROTTERDAM, 26 Sep (SW) - Spain opens it's World Cup qualifying campaign in Kutno (Poland). On thursday they will meet the winless Polish national side.

The poles lost their first two matches in Group 3. At home they lost 1-5 against Denmark. And this weekend they lost 3-1 against a sluggish Finland. The game Poland-Spain starts at 15:00.

28 September: HJK - Sport Vaasa (Finland)

In Finland HJK is nearing the title, with only three matches to go HJK is leading United Pietarsaari and FC Espoo by six points. Opponents Sport Vaasa have to make the 400 kilometres journey to Helsinki. Newly promoted Vaasa are ranked 8th just above the relegation line. On the 26th FC Espoo plays TiPS at home.

1 October: Ter Leede - Wartburgia (Netherlands)

In the third round of the Dutch league top teams Ter Leede (Sassenheim) and Wartburgia (Amsterdam) will meet. Wartburgia embarrased raining champion Saestum earlier this season by winning 0-1 in Zeist. Saestum will have to take their first win at Fortuna Wormerveer, another top flight team.

1 October: Team Strommen - Trondheims Orn (Norway)

In deep hope that Kolbotn IL loses points at Klepp on sunday Team Strommen have to win the very nasty game against Trondheims Orn. In the 1. Divisjon the two promoted teams Amazon Grimstad and Arna Bjornar meet each other to drink together on their Toppserien-future after the match.

2 October: Rayo Vallecano - Estudiantes (Spain)

A strange game in the early season top of the table in Spain. Rayo Vallecano were a midtable club last year and Estudiantes even fought against relegation. Now the students won their first three games and Rayo just drew one.
