STOCKHOLM, Apr 18 (SW) - The first game of the 2006 Damallsvenskan was played at Kristinebergs IP, where the players had the opportunity to play on a good spring-surface. Djurgården/Älvsjö against Sunnanå ended with a 3-0 home win for the women from Stockholm.
A game with few free-kicks and other difficult situation for the referees. Referee Paula Thorn had to use her whistle for the first time after 10 minutes and that was because the throw-in was made at the wrong place" Already after 15 minutes, Djurgården/Älvsjö scored their first goal. Victoria Svensson was served superbly by Linda Fagerström and made no mistakes. The second goal was a strange one. Katrine Pedersen, new in Djurgården/Älvsjö this season from Norwegian Floya, threw a long throw-in. The ball hit the grass in front of the goalkeeper of Sunnanå and took a high way. The keeper reached out and touched the ball, only to give it more speed into the net. If she hadn't touched it, the goal had not been accepted. In the second half, the home-team had full control of the game and Sunnanå had to defend their penalty box with a lot of players. Laura Kalmari had a great shot that hit the cross bar, Svensson almost succeeded with a biceycleta. With twenty minutes to go, Sara Thunebro launched a long cross, Victoria headed it in front of the goal, where Ann-Marie Norlin came with full speed and made Djurgårde/Älvsjös third goal. Djurgarden / Alvsjo – Sunnana SK 3-0 (2-0) Goals: 16. Victoria Svensson 1-0, 33. Katrine Pedersen 2-0, 70.
