BAD BERTRICH, Jun 11 (SW) - Switzerland received a scare when striker Marco Streller injured his knee in training on Saturday, but team doctors have said he is alright to play against France on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old forward suffered the injury when he and David Degen had a collision in a training session, and the injury was originally thought more serious than it really was. However, scans indicated that he had only slightly strained ligaments.
It would have been a huge heartbreak for Streller to miss action, as the player missed all of Euro 2004 after a broken leg in training.
It is unclear if Streller will be in the starting line-up on Tuesday, as manager Köbi Kuhn is yet to drop any hints about his team.
