MÖNCHENGLADBACH, Jun 2 (SW) - Germany gave themselves a confidence boost by beating Colombia 3-0 in an international warm-up friendly on Friday.
The Colombians showed no desire to attack, and Germany were by far the stronger side throughout the entire match.
After 21 minutes, captain Michael Ballack headed past goalkeeper Oscar Córdoba to open the score, and a free kick from Bastian Schweinsteiger doubled the gap sixteen minutes later.
The third and last German goal came from Tim Borowski in the 69th minute.
In exactly a week from now, Germany face Costa Rica in the opening game of the 2006 World Cup.
