FIRENZE, Jun 7 (SW) - Italy manager Marcello Lippi has been handed a new injury worry, as midfielder Gennaro Gattuso is ruled out for the coming two weeks.
The AC Milan player, feared by many opponents, injured his upper right leg and misses at least one, but probably two World Cup matches. This was announced by team doctor Castellacci on Wednesday.
Lippi will not be calling up a replacement, as Gattuso is basically a reserve player.
Meanwhile, defenders Gianluca Zambrotta is certainly out for Italy's opening match with Ghana on Monday, while Alessandro Nesta's participation remains uncertain as well.
