ROME, May 15 (SW) - Italy manager Marcello Lippi announced his 23-man squad for the World Cup finals on Monday and it included a couple of surprises.

Many expected Livorno striker Cristiano Lucarelli to be added to the team, but Lippi instead opted for Udinese forward Vincenzo Iaquinta, despite Lucarelli's better numbers in Serie A over the past two seasons.

It also marked the return of Filippo Inzaghi to international competition, as the resurgent AC Milan forward missed out on Euro 2004, but joins teammate Alberto Gilardino in the pool of strikers for Lippi.
