GENEVA, May 29 (SW) - Chelsea centre back Robert Huth sustained an ankle injury during Germany’s 7-0 victory over Luxembourg on Saturday. Huth never re-appeared for the second half of the friendly after sustaining the injury.
After travelling back to their Swiss training camp on Sunday the 21-year-old ‘stopper’ had scans on the troublesome ankle and afterwards assistant coach Joachim Loew announced, \"The scan on Huth's ankle revealed nothing dramatic. Thankfully there's no tear but again, it's too early to tell whether he can play.\" Huth is unsettled at Chelsea and last week announced that he was ready for a move, having only made 13 league appearances last year; 7 starts and 6 from the bench. \"All is know is that I am not happy at the time being. After the World Cup I will speak to Jose Mourinho. \"Even a transfer to the Bundesliga is a possibility. It’s all open. Nothing has been decided yet.\" There will be no shortage of offers, with Premiership clubs Wigan, Everton and Newcastle all preparing offers of around £6 million. |
