BERGEN, May 29 (SW) - Arna Bjørnar, with three goals scored by Elise H. Thorsnes won 3-2 on this round’s most exciting match against Røa Dynamite Girls. With these goals added to her previous 5 goals, Norway’s 17 year old “supertalent” jumped to the top of the top scorer list leading with 8 goals scored after 4 rounds.
In Tromsø, Fløya won 1-0 against Sandviken by the goal of June Tårnes. The 15 year old “new pearl” played three matches this season - scored one goal on each! In Trondheim, the Eagles collected their obligatory three points – 2-0 victory over Klepp by the goals of Solfrid Andersen and Gunilla Forseth. Strømmen outclassed Liungen by this year’s record score of 10-0. In the home team, nearly everybody who played scored one goal each: the ten goals were scored by 9 different players – among them, the first was an own goal in the 2nd minute… On he weekend’s most attended match, defending champion Kolbotn is currently leading 1-0 against Toppserien newbie Amazon Grimstad int he earlz minutes of the second half. Arna-Bjørnar - Røa 3-2 (3-1) Bergen, 27 May 2006, attendance: 252, referee: Vibeke Karlsen Arna-Bjørnar: Anita Berg, Siv Skard, Caroline Walde, Maren Mjelde, Henriette Lund (Veronica Thunestveit, 78), Stine Andreassen, Randi Skår, Anne Bugge-Paulsen, Madeleine Giske, Ingrid Camilla Fosse-Sæthre, Elise H. Goals: 1-0 Elise Thorsnes (3), 1-1 Guro Knutsen (18), 2-1 Elise Thorsnes (33), 3-1 Elise Thorsnes (43), 3-2 Karin Bredland (52) Elise H. Thorsnes, 17 year old “superstar” of the Bergen team scored three goals – making a victory on the derby between the first and second placed teams before the match. She is currently leading the scorer list, with 8 goals on 4 matches – and so far she seems to be for the season’s newly discovered talent. Only after three minutes played, she scored her first on the match. Arna Bjørnar, a team that spent last season out of Toppserien, is the surprise team so far – leading the championship after 4 rounds, by a total of 10 points. The team’s realistic goal was to hold a 5th-6th place. Everything else is considered a bonus in Bergen. Now, they can play without pressure, and so far – rather effectively! Fløya Tromsø - Sandviken 1-0 (0-0) Tromsø, 27 May 2006, attendance: 101, referee: Hege L. Steinlund Fløya Tromsø: Cecilie Gjennestad - Silje Peltoperä Moen, Ingrid Mortensen, Ann Helen Brekke, Michelle Bolton – Eline Johansen (Ingvild Berg, 87.), Anneli Giske, Stine Frantzen, Tone Løkås (Sofie Grimstad Pedersen, 46.) - June Tårnes (Stine Gundersen, 90.), Kristy Moore Sandviken: Mona Kaland - Maria Elena Kvalen, Lene Haaskjold Carlsen, June Hammersland, Catrine Schimmer Hoff (Ingvild K Elde, 69.)– Torill Fjellestad, Marita Hammersland, Hege Kathrine Skjelbred (Miriam Kleppa, 79.)- Solveig Midttun, Trude Amundsen, Aimee Edris Goal: 1-0 June Tårnes (63) Fløya’s 15 year old talent, June Tårnes scored again – she played on three matches this season, scored one goal on each! Toppserien’s only above the Arctic Circle team started well, with a lot of pressure on the guests. The biggest chance of the first half was missed by Tone Løkås, who had been substituted soon afterwards at half time. In the second half, following a combination by Michelle Bolton and Anneli Giske, June Tårnes observed carefully where the keeper was standing, and than sent a nice shoot to the net! 1-0. Sandviken, the only team without a single point this season, did not have a single chance during the game. The home team was attacking nearly all the time. However, except for June Tårnes’s decisive goal, they could not score another one from the total 6-7 great chances. Strømmen - Liungen 10-0 (3-0) Strømmen stadion, Oslo, 27 May 2006, attendance: 266, referee: Ann Helene R. Østervold Strømmen: Ingrid Bruserud (Hege Solvang, 61.) - Hege Storløkken, Maritha Kaufmann, Hilde Hansen, Lena Ingelsrudøya - Lene Storløkken (Nasra Abdullah ,65.), Hege Riise, Monica Knudsen - Juliane Olstad, Elene Moseby Torre, Ida Elise Enget (Bente Haakaas, 75.) Liungen: Marthe Kvaale, Kristin Jonvik, Aashild Thorrud, Merethe Løvseth, Maja Nordahl, Lizzie Muzungu (Hanne Teigstad, 54.), Elisabeth Aaråe, Anja Ormåsen, (Marthe Dragseth, 87.), Marit Bergan, (Ingrid Høgseth 60.) Goals: 1-0 Åshild Torrud (2, own goal 2) , 2-0 Elene Moseby Torre (17), 3-0 Hege Glesåsen Storløkken (31), 4-0 Elene Moseby Torre (45), 5-0 Lena Ingelsrudøya (54), 6-0 Ida Elise Enget (64), 7-0 Hege Riise (68), 8-0 Monica Knudsen (70), 9-0 Juliane Olstad (81), 10-0 Bente Haakaas (87) Yellow cards: Maritha Kaufmann (48) from Strømmen and Lizzy Likika Muzungu (26), Ane Jakobsen Bjerke (50) from Liungen. Strømmen, last season’s runners up, seemingly do not play on the same planet as Liungen. Last month, just before the season’s start, Liungen lost 0-11 in Strømmen stadion. This time, it was „only” a difference of ten goals. Strømmen were strongly motivated to show their fans that they are a much better team than loosing last round in Trondheim. Already in the 2nd minute the guests were a goal behind by an own goal - a bounce following a shot by Juliane Olstad - of the team’s captain Åshild Torrud. The final score of 10-0 is this season’s goal record so far, and also of Strømmen’s biggest victory ever in Toppserien. Interestingly, according to Liungen’s coach Kjersti Thun her team played better now than last week 0-9 against Amazon Grimstad. Perhaps also Guro Sandnæs back injury and Miriam Mumtaz’s absence due to her wedding are also among the factors that could explain a little bit of Liungen’s performance. Hanne Teigstad of Liungen, after a long injury, came in as a substitute of Zambian player Lizzy Muzungu. Liungen has 3-25 goal difference after 4 matches. After the opening round’s 2-0 victory over bottom team Sandviken, Liungen has a terrible performance record (1-6, 0-9 and now 0-10…). Trondheims-Ørn - Klepp 2-0 (1-0) Trondheim, 27 May 2006, attendance: 202, referee: Vibeke Larsen Trondheim: Ingrid Hjelmseth - Marianne Paulsen, Lene Tronseth, Kristin Lie, Ann Iren Mørkved - Trine Nordgård, Linn Nyrønning, Unni Lehn - Gunilla Forseth (Lena Sundli, 82.), Solfrid Andersen (Nina Stiles, 66.), Inger Ane Hole (Mari Husby, 75.) Klepp: Lill Yvonne Karlsrud - Astrid Grøttå Ree, Kine Bjerk, Silje Thorsen, Aina Danielsen - Monica Torland, Maren Hinnaland (Hanne Øritsland, 72.), Gry T. Ims, Signe Marie Abelsnes, Line Krogedal Smørsgård - Tonnie Stensland (Hege Hansen, 46.) Goals: 1-0 Solfrid Andersen (31), 2-0 Gunilla Forseth (48) Norwegian women football’s historically far most successful team Trondheim Eagles collected the obligatory 3 points to follow Arna Bjørnar on the top. Despite the victory, Ørn’s trainer Gøril Kringen was still slightly dissatisfied with her team’s performance. Trondheim, along with Røa and Strømmen, would like to challenge Kolbotn for the championship title.Better performance will be needed to pursue those ambitions. Midfielder Unni Lehn was choosen as Trondheim’s best of the day. Klepp’s coach Knut Eriksen was satisfied with her team’s performance, calling it as this season’s best so far, even better than when they could hold a 1-1 draw against Kolbotn. |
