DONCASTER, Oct 1 (SW) - Third placed Doncaster had a though call today against Fulham. Daniella Farmer scored an early goal for Fulham in the first half. Doncaster quickly repaired the balance in the first half and scored two goals after the break, leading to a three to one victory in the end.

In Doncaster the home team escaped from a small disaster today. They couldn’t effort to draw or loose against the bottom league club from London. At the end they didn’t loose, but at the start of the game the sky didn’t seem to bright for the home team. Daniella Farmer even opened the game with a quality goal in the 5th minute.

Fulham kept playing well after the goal and played a solid match today. Unlike what the home team expected, they were well capable to control the match in the first half. Most of the first half was played on the midfield causing a quite boring match with just a few chances. The first real big chance of the Rovers was for Carla Cantrell. She knew what to do in front of the goalie and equalised the match. Just before half time Fulham had another big change but they couldn’t get the ball in to the net.

The second half the home team showed a bit more of there potential. Becky Lee scored from short distance after a nice combination between Stevens and Cantrell halfway the second half. Five minutes later striker Walsh finished the game after good work of Pauline Hamell.

In the end of the game Doncaster created loads of chances against one big chance of Fulham but both teams couldn’t find the net anymore.

John Bucklery, manager of Doncaster Belles talked to Women Soccerway and stated that he wasn’t satisfied with the performance of the team today: “It was a very weak game, we took the points, but if we want to stay in the top of the league we have to improve and show our quality.” Buckley is aiming for a top league ranking this season.

The Chairman of Fulham on the other hand, spoke about a very good game for Fulham: “This game will encourage us, and we’ll be looking forward to the match against Arsenal in which we can again improve our game.”
