BEIJING (SW) - The German women have won Bronze at the Olympic Games in China, beating Japanese 2-0 at Beijing's Workers Stadium.
The almost fifty thousand spectators watched as the first half went by without goals, but Germany made the difference after the break.
Fatmire Bajramaj ended the stalemate in the 69th minute and went on to score the second and deciding goal with three minutes to play in regular time.
The Bronze is Germany's third in a row, having ended in third place in 2000 (victory over Brazil) and 2004 (victory over Sweden).
