Olympiakos are out of the Champions League while Anorthosis Famagusta are the first ever Cypriot side to make it to the group phase of Europe's most prestigious club tournament.
Anorthosis rocked Olympiakos player's boots out :) Just to mention something to our supposed Greek "brothers" there, that nearly killed us if not of the police force and shout us to be Turks, kept us from training and punched once our club president. Just one i can tell them, they got what they diserved, they can keep shoving it up :) I think we showed them up who the "real" Greeks are :)
Shinon it's all political. Turkish people don't belong to Cyprus anyway, like Albanians don't belong on Kosovo.
Anyway I don't like to see that Olympiakos is out but Panathinaikos in, I wished for it to be the other way.
shinon, dont confuse real greeks with pathetic olympiakos hooligans. As a greek I am ashamed at what those morons did.I live in Australia and have a lot of Cypriot friends.Congratulations to Anorthosis and wish them the best of luck.As for you Cile_car Panathinaikos deserves to be in the champions league as they are the only Greek team that has the most impressive record in europe from all Greek teams and most other european teams with the exception of the top european teams.Olympiakos may have won a lot of greek titles in recent years but it just goes to show that you may be able to buy titles in greece but not in europe where their bribery just doesnt cut it.
Bribery... Kontak you sound like a jelaous Liverpool fan in England talking about their history and claiming Manchester United won the titles by bribing the referees and FA.
Cile_car you sound like the ignorant fools that believe that the world trade towers were brought down by terrorist living in caves.Wake up,bribery does exist just look at Olympiakos' results in the champions league where they only won their first game last season or the season before. If they were as good as their results in Greece suggest(rubbish they bought the titles)they would have won a lot more CL games.Their CL record is atrocious and if I was an Olympiakos fan I would be ashamed to even admit that I support them.
Those Cypriot teams have signed some good players in the past from the continent. Who knows, a Greek team versus Cypriots can be one of those rivalries. Cyprus also drew Germany last qualifying round. Suprises happen.
I would just like to add something very important that has been omitted from the article. Anorthosis Famagusta is NOT a Larnaka based club, it is a Famagusta based club, which happens to be in the North of Cyprus which was invaded, and still illegally occupied, by Turkey in 1974. Larnaka is merely the temporary town in which Anorthosis Famagusta play their football until the refugee club can return to their rightful home and pitch, the G.S.O in Famagusta.
Kontak, I'd rather not comment on that. Because if I look at things like you do, every winning club that doesn't do well in all competitions are a bribing club. Have you ever considered that maybe their focus is on domestic league, rather than CL where they know they don't have a chance against clubs from Spain, England, Italy,... Or maybe you're being blinded too much by your hatred towards them!!!
And Kontak when you first attacked me for my statement, maybe you should see that I said it was my WISH that Olympiakos were in and Panathinaikos out and I didn't claim that Olympiakos deserved it more. But considering your hatred towards the club, I'd like to end this argument because it's leading nowhere.

These guys deserve a big round of applause !!!When some virtually unknown club from a small country like Cyprus reach CL status, it's a definite sign of courage and determination.
Well done Anorthosis !!!!!
