UEFA Women's Championship

Sweden secured a spot in the quarter finals of the UEFA Women's Championship, beating Italy 2-0 in a Group C match this Friday.

After just nine minutes at Turku Stadium in Finland, the Swedish took the lead. Sandell Svensson delivered the ball to Lotta Schelin, whose following effort beat keeper Picarelli for 1-0.

And ten minutes later, it was Kosovare Asllani to receive the ball from Schelin and find the net to double the Scandinavians' advantage.

No more goals were scored in the remainder of the encounter, as Sweden earn a spot in the next stage while Italy have all left to work for in their final group match, against England on Monday.
